Wilbert Das, who served as Creative Director and Head of Design for the Italian fashion label Diesel from 1993 to 2009 opened Uxua Casa Hotel his 'dream project' in 2008. Set above a remote stretch of Brazil’s Bahian coastline in a fishing village called Trancoso, the luxurious hideaway consists of nine 1-3 bedroom houses built and decorated in collaboration with local artisans using traditional building methods, recycled materials, and exquisite attention to detail. Complemented by spa, restaurant, and beachfront lounge, UXUA sets new standards of rustic design & luxury.
